Give Write is a not-for-profit organisation helping West Australian children in need with the provision of stationary items to support their studies. Through their positive work, they help reduce the emotional pressure, ostracism and exclusion that children and teens who lack basic school supplies often experience.
KMCC commenced discussions with Give Write in May 2022, and soon acquired a great new blue donation bin to deliver a new community collection point right here in Kardinya.
How to donate.
If you’re a local resident or center patron do bring in and donate the stationery you have at home, and place it in the light blue bin in our foyer (past the reception). We accept the following new/lightly used stationery:
- Blue, black and red pens
- Coloured pencils
- Twist up crayons
- Erasers
- Pencil cases
- Artline pens
- Unused exercise books
- Lead Pencils
- Markers/textas
- Rulers
- Sharpeners
- Glue sticks
- Highlighters
- Calculators
- Brand new drink bottles
- Lunchboxes
We accept lightly used backpacks. Unfortunately, lever arch or ring binder files are not accepted.
Assisting children across the State.
In addition to assisting students in metro Perth, your donations can also help support children and teens in remote communities, including northern coastal towns such as Roebourne, as one local teacher reported:
“The students who have already received their packs have loved going through them, looking at all the items, and wanted to get straight into using their new things.”
Give Write has also brought much positivity to children’s lives in the wake of local emergencies and crises. For example, in May 2021, Give Write provided no less than 100 children with stationary packs following the Woolooroo bushfires.
